    February 2024

    We're back with another update!

This update will go over what we did in February and the beginning of March.

Before we get too deep into it, the short of it is that...

...we kept up our usual pace of 4 new Units released each week (we're now at Phase Three, Unit 188) and...

...we did a complete rework on the NativShark Support Docs site, which is full of support articles designed to help you out with studying Japanese as much as possible ^^

    Onto the details:

    Help Site Rework

We did a complete rework on the NativShark Support Docs site.

Along with new functionalities such as the ability to jump to and link headers, every single article has been brought up to the current standard. All articles now have clearer information, and many have had information added to them. Please feel free to check them out!

    New sections:

We have 3 new sections: "Guides", "Lessons", and "Newsletters".

Guides help you navigate through something that you encounter while studying Japanese.

This includes our JLPT guide, which got a rework to help with clarity. The old parts 2 and 3 have been combined into a single part 2, headlines have been reworked to make quick referencing easier.

Lessons are there to show you what types of Japanese you can expect to understand at a given level within NativShark. There are currently 4 available, with more on the way in the future.

Newsletters are where our weekly newsletters will be uploaded to. We've been writing some guides that took time away from adding these so far, but we'll get these steadily uploaded as we keep sending the weekly newsletter.

    Speaking of which...

    New Support articles:

Learning Japanese: The Essentials guide - Designed to answer the most common questions that learners of all levels find themselves wondering. Feel free to give it a read or a skim, we hope you find it helpful!

How does NativShark correlate to JLPT levels? - Had a recent question in the community asking this and we wrote some details and rough estimates here ^^

    New Units

From February to March 4, the content team has released a total of 20 new Units!

The Units are Phase Three, Units 169 - 188 ^^

    These 20 Units contain...

    • 25 Lessons and ~80 lesson sentences with natural audio
    • 238 pieces of vocab with full example sentences, situational context, and natural audio
    • 13 Kanji (All Jouyou kanji are already taught^^)
    • 20 fully voiced Dialogues

We hit Milestone 35, and now we have lots of pants:

We also have the following new progression badges:

Pundit: You know a good amount of political terms.

Faithful: You know proper shrine and temple etiquette.

Little Dolls: You know about Hinamatsuri, Children's Day, and Daruma dolls.

Thanks for your continued studies with NativShark.

We hope to see you in NativShark and in the community!
