Can I use NativShark as an app?

Yes! While we don't have an app on the app store, you can add NativShark to your home screen so NativShark functions nearly identically to any other app.

This can be useful for staying consistent in our studies, as every time we pick up our phone, tablet, or desktop, we’ll see our studies waiting for us, just a tap or click away ^^

Why add NativShark to my home screen?

Adding NativShark to your home screen is helpful to keep the thought of studying in your head, which means your consistency should get a boost if you have it on your home screen showing as an app.

You may also find it to be an overall smoother experience than using NativShark in your browser.

There's more screen space available when you do this as well!

    🦈
On a personal note, I (Ty) have found that putting NativShark front and center of my main home screen on my phone and tablet + moving apps that I can easily lose a lot of time in such as Instagram or Youtube to the second or third home screen to be incredibly helpful.

Doing so means that I have to swipe once or twice before I accidentally find myself with Instagram open, which gives me more time to catch myself before I find the app open and an hour+ has disappeared with no studies done.

It might be worth a try for you as well if you find yourself with a similar problem ^^

Another powerful tool to aid in this is habit tagging, which I highly recommend trying as well.

    iPhone and iPad

    1. Click on the share button

Open Safari, go to your My Journey page, and click on the share button. (This must be done in Safari, not another browser):

    2. Add to Home Screen

Click on “Add to Home Screen”* (if your phone is in Japanese, it will say ホーム画面がめんに追加ついか)

*Every device will be slightly different in wording, so look for something similar if this exact wording isn't used.

    3. Click “Add”

Feel free to rename what you want the text under the icon to be, and then click on “Add” in the top right of your screen. If your phone is in Japanese, it will say 追加ついか.

    4. Done!

You did it! Feel free to verify and then move it to where you want it to be.

    Android phones and tablets

    1. Click on the three-dot menu

Open Chrome and go to your My Journey page. Click on the three dots in the top right corner of your screen:

    2. Install App

Click on “Install App”*. In Japanese, this will say アプリをインストール:

*Every device will be slightly different in wording, so look for something similar if this exact wording isn't used.

    3. Confirm install

When a confirmation appears, hit “Install”, which will be インストール in Japanese:

    4. Done!

You should see NativShark on your homepage when the installation completes (it may take a few seconds or so).

Feel free to put it where works best for you^^
