    What is a Milestone?

A "Milestone" is the second largest measurement of progress in NativShark.

Milestones consist of Progression Badges, which come from "Units". Units consist of kanji, vocab, grammar, cultural notes, and more that teach you a certain skill in Japanese.

These skills include navigating restaurants, exposure to grammar points, having seen all common kanji, knowledge about Japan's culture or holidays, and much more.

When you pass a certain Milestone, you are notified via receiving a “Milestone Badge”.

All Milestones and Badges can be seen by scrolling down and looking through the "My Path" section on your My Journey page. You can click on any Milestone to see what Progression Badges it contains.

    Progression Badges

Progression Badges add up to form Milestones.

As you go through Units by presssing the Study Now button, you'll come across many Progression Badges, which are smaller goalposts that show you what you've been learning:

    Milestone Badges

Milestone Badges are obtained by progressing through Units via the Study Now button. They contain Units and Progression Badges.

Milestone and Progression Badges provide us with both short- and long-term goals to strive toward each day, week, month, and year.

They also represent major steps in our progress to remind us that we are indeed learning a lot^^

    📚
See this article for more information on around what Milestones you can expect to have a given skill.
